Welcome to the Step Stones For Life® Coping & Motivation Workshop!
I am so excited to begin this journey with you, and grateful you have joined my Step Stones For Life® family.
Congratulations on taking a step to work through any challenges and embrace the life you deserve.
For the next 5 weeks we will work through the 10 steps of coping and motivation covering 2 steps per week. I recommend trying to be consistent with the 5 week pace, covering two lectures and assignments a week. This will give you a chance to let the lessons sink in and practice before you get to the next step. I know life gets busy, so I’ve made this course self-paced. Feel free to jump ahead or catch up when you need to. Each step will have an audio lecture, a quiz to double check your awareness (don’t worry not graded ☺), and an assignment to help actualize your momentum.

Hi Nova, I’m looking forward to the course. I tend to have high anxiety that makes me feel out of control and feel a sense of dread. Step 1 and 7 will be hard for me, I’m eager to learn more about how I can let go of what I cannot control. Also, constantly feeling like impending doom might happen, Step 6 will be challenging. I do feel hopeful this course will help and I’m grateful I can chat with you in the discussion areas!

Hi Nova – great to “see” you in here! The toughest one for me is probably #8. I have never been good at setting goals! I think I don’t want to fail, and if I don’t set the goal to begin with then I can’t fail at accomplishing it! For example, I really want to start exercising and get in better shape, but I hate exercise and am lazy to get started. I thought about setting some kind of exercise goal, but I’ve been talking about it for a year and still haven’t done it. #7 is also a challenge for me, as I have a hard time with letting go of things I can’t control.

Hi Nova!! Happy to have joined!! I think #2 of releasing stress and tension will be most difficult for me. I’m in my second year of graduate school and working on a thesis (about reducing depression stigma,) and I am just so busy and can get overwhelmed! I also struggle with a panic and anxiety disorder, so releasing stress does not come easy for me.
Hi Ariana!! 🙂 welcome! I’m so happy you’re here. I will help with that! It’s a lot to be in school and manage stress. Anxiety builds and is accumulative … so we will work on a plan for you that works. 💛

I’ve finally gotten the nerve to begin this course…. I feel like most of where my life has taken me were the decisions of other people or me trying to please them. So I finally want to figure out what makes ME truly happy, face the fears of the unknown and heal all those “hurts” so I can find the joy and inner peace I’ve prayed for.
