Your Pack: Self Knowledge
Before you can begin any journey, you need supplies. From the sheltering palm leaves above, you will weave a sturdy pack with two comfortable straps. Your supplies will be your strengths, talents, and personal resources.
Often, innate talents and abilities have been slumbering for long periods of time lying dormant from pressures of society, family, or your own denial of their importance. When you choose a path to consciously or unknowingly please someone else while turning away from what you feel passionate about, discontentment follows. Turning away from self-knowledge and inner guidance under the pressures of judgment and conformity washes away the expression of your true self and your destiny. Rekindling self-knowledge uncovers vast personal strengths, self-confidence, and creativity.
In using Creative Intelligence, your creative process begins with the expression of your unique talents and abilities. Uncovering personal assets stirs your creative confidence and sparks the creative connection that will lead you to fulfillment.
During my first session with clients I ask for them to list their greatest strengths. Usually, they can list maybe three in the first session. Over the course of our journey together the list grows and grows until at least an entire page is filled. Why? Their true self is surfacing as we lift away the ideals of others, pressure, stress, and misguided beliefs I call untruths. Untruths comprise a definition of self-meaning imposed by others that conflict with the congruency of your true self. They are by definition, untrue to your soul and self-limiting. I look for untruths within the language a client uses, such as I can’t, or I shouldn’t, and search for the connecting experiences that somehow untruthfully reinforced a limiting self-belief, while at the same time searching for experiences that contradict the limited self-belief and support their true self.
When you feel you cannot create what you want in your life, notice the word “cannot,” which supports an untruth incongruent with your true self. Lifting away this incongruence through experiences that reinforce your true self allows your inner voice to surface and actively express your creativity through innately given talents, abilities, and desires. The voice will sound like a familiar whisper of intuition, an instinctual guidance that speaks of self-knowledge, security, and joy. We all have wonderful, unique talents. Think of what you enjoy, what gives you pleasure, and you will find the keys to unlock your talents and abilities. Enjoyment and pleasure guide you to what connects you to your creative self, and encourages you to embrace it and recognize your own talents.
